Learn basic information about the functions of the kidneys, the causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD), and some signs of kidney disease. The purpose of Kidney School CE courses is to educate renal professionals about the medical and psychosocial impacts of end-stage kidney disease, as well as patients’ experience of coping with this chronic condition.
Objectives
After taking this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the basic functions of the kidneys
- Identify the leading causes of kidney failure
- Describe the warning signs of kidney failure
- Describe the treatments and preventive measures that can slow the progression of kidney failure
- List self-management strategies that can help patients adapt to living with chronic kidney disease
